**All year, girls running events will compete first, followed by boys
**Meet will be on a rolling start, meaning as soon as the event is finished, they will move onto the next event. We do not have a set or even tentative schedule for when an event will take place.
Dismissal Policy for Perry Dual Meet
Only athletes competing in the Perry Dual meet are permitted to leave early. Teammates who are not competing must remain in class.
Dismissal Time: 1:30 PM
Bus Departure Time: 1:45 PM
Teacher Notification: Teachers will have a list of approved athletes.
Athlete Responsibility: Athletes must leave class promptly at 1:30 PM without causing a disruption.
Procedure After Dismissal:
Head directly to the locker room to change into your uniform. Athletes should not linger in hallways or other areas of campus. Be efficient and respectful of the process of you will lose your privilege to leave early from school for athletic events.
Proceed outside to the parking lot near the track.
Load onto the bus immediately.
Important: There is a possibility that students may be marked absent, triggering an automated call to parents stating their child was unexcused from school. If this happens, please send a message to Coach Shearer so the absence can be corrected with the athletic admin. To ensure it gets addressed promptly, please send a message rather than mentioning it in person.
🚌 Athlete Transportation:
All athletes will be transported to and from the meet via school bus transportation.
Athletes are NOT allowed to drive themselves or have parents drive them to the meet.
All athletes will be dismissed early from school and are required to ride the school bus to the meet.
Extenuating Circumstances: If a parent needs to take their athlete home after the meet, they must sign the sign out sheet located at DV Team Camp.
Please avoid early departures when possible – Meets are a valuable learning experience and an opportunity for team bonding. Staying for the entire meet allows athletes to support their teammates and learn how track meets function.

What Parents and Athletes need to know
💧 🍌 What to Bring?
Athletes are permitted to bring snacks, water bottles and post-race refueling drinks (drinks with electrolytes (Gatorades, etc), Chocolate Milk (other high protein drinks).
Weather Protection – Sunscreen, hats, or jackets depending on the forecast.
Cash/Card 💳💵 – Some meets have concession stands although it is less likely at weekday meets.
Portable Charger 🔋 – Meets can last several hours, and phone batteries drain quickly.
📢 Event Alerts & Announcements
Listen for event calls over the PA system.
Athletes should stay near the track/field area when their event is approaching.
No re-entry is allowed, so plan to stay for the duration of the meet.
🙌 How to Support Your Athlete?
Cheer loud but avoid coaching from the stands – Let the coaches do their job.
Encourage your athlete to check in early for their events.
Know that athletes will be warming up and cooling down with their teammates, they may not always be available to be in stands with parents.
Stay positive – Track and field is about personal improvement as well as competition!
