Congratulations to all of the athletes who qualified for the Division 1 State meet! We are looking forward to seeing who also qualifies for the AZ State Meet. Let's celebrate these accomplishments together.

Location: Foothills Club West Community Center | 16414 S 14th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85045
Cost: Free of charge for qualifying athletes, coaches, and family members
Limit: 2 guests per athlete
A light dinner will be catered.

All Team Picnic next week! All families invited!
Please join us for an end of season picnic to celebrate another great season. Not only will the Coaches speak to successes of the season, but our Senior athletes will be recognized.
Monday, May 5, 6:30-8:30 PM | Desert Vista Courtyard
Please RSVP by 10am Friday, May 2 for all in your party (including athletes who are free) so we have an accurate count for food.

Cost: Event is free for all .
Cost of optional picnic meal: $8 for family members
No charge for food for athletes and coaches (but we still need RSVPs for athletes and coaches too, for accuracy).
Meal includes Jimmy John's 6 inch sandwich, chips, cookie, and drink.
Phoenix Phreeze will provide treats at no cost to all coaches, athletes & their families, compliments of the Track & Field Booster Board.
Bring chairs and blankets and lawn games if you would like.
Families with Senior athletes will have tables set up, but all other families can spread out in the courtyard.

We need volunteers for Last Chance / Underclassmen Showcase on 4/30
Please help make the final home meet a success. You have all been amazing this season and we hope you will help one more time! Please sign up at the following link: https://lastchancevolunteers.cheddarup.com
Gates open at 7am, with throws starting at 8:30, horizontal jumps starting at 9 and running starting at 11.
Note that this is a school day so the student lot will not be available until after 3pm. Parking will be available at the Park and Ride at 40th St and the 202. Shuttles will run from 7am-12pm and 2-4pm.
The set up crew should still be able to park in the lot for set up but will then need to move their cars, as the coaches have asked for a 6am set up time.

Volunteers Needed | Desert Sunrise Dual Meet | Wednesday, April 16 | 2:30-5:30 PM
Please come help us make our dual meet a success. There are many more positions needed than for our invitationals, including a need for many timers! The meet begins at 3, with an approximate end time of 5:30. Volunteers can arrive about 2:30.

Fry's Gift Cards needed and Booster Meeting Thursday, March 27 6 PM
We need Fry's gift cards so the Boosters can purchase sandwiches and other snacks for the athletes and coaches at the two meets this weekend. Gift cards can be turned into coaches at practice OR even better: Bring them to the Booster meeting on Thursday, March 27 at 6 PM in the cafeteria. The meeting will cover the upcoming meets in California (April 11-12), needs for our next home meet (Becky Matthews on April 5), as well as needs for more fundraising and sponsorships.

On behalf of the Boosters and coaches, thank you very much to everyone who contributed time and energy to the Thunder Invitational last week. Your commitment and presence helped the meet run more smoothly and allowed coaches and athletes to focus on competing.
Our next home meet will be Becky Matthews on Saturday, April 5. Be on the lookout for sign-ups soon. We will likely need the same positions filled with the potential for some changes or additions.

REGISTRATION, FEE AND PAYMENT METHODS
Registration
Students must complete the athletic registration process using Register My Athlete. Your athlete must be cleared on RMA prior to practicing. Physicals are required if a current one is not on file.
Athletes must complete an online code of conduct form in order to get their uniform. The link located on the right side of the team website homepage under “Pre-Season Checklist”
Fee
We are requesting a $85 fee to support program expenses (meet entry fees, equipment, etc.) paid through the DV Track & Field Boosters. Upon payment, athletes will receive their Team Shirt.
Note: No athlete will be turned away due to financial hardship. Please email the treasurer (dvtrackandfieldtreasurer@gmail.com) with questions or concerns.

Athletes will receive a team t-shirt with their booster fee. Uniform top and bottom will also be issued, however, athletes will not be issued warm-ups. We suggest purchasing a warm-up set for your athlete to use during their time at Desert Vista.

Sole Sports Day at the Track:
Sole Sports (Tempe) offers our student-athletes a 20% discount on training shoes and spikes. They will bring out their track and field spike collection to DV on Friday Feb 21, beginning at 5pm. Athletes can purchase spikes, or parents can stop by to shop with their athletes.

Tax Credit Donation
Please consider directing your annual Arizona Tax Credit towards Desert Vista Track and Field. Our program relies on tax credits to pay our large coaching staff.
The Arizona Tax Credit program, A.R.S.43-1089.01, allows any Arizona taxpayer to donate (up to $200 per individual or up to $400 for married couples) to a school of their choice in support of extracurricular activities and get their entire donation back in the form of a tax credit.
For more information and to download a tax credit donation form, visit www.tempeunion.org/Page/152. When filling out your form, please indicate “Desert Vista Track and Field” as your area of donation. Donations can also be paid at the DV Bookstore.
Volunteer for our Home Meets
We need YOU! Home meets cannot run without volunteers. If everyone pitches in, it can be manageable for all. Here are some details:
You will never miss watching your athlete compete. If you are signed-up to volunteer and your athlete is about to compete you can always step away to cheer on your athlete!
Volunteers are needed for helping with field events, concessions, and hospitality (invite only). Sign-up will be available through CheedarUp.
Concession and hospitality donation opportunities (Fry's gift cards, Gatorade, chips, etc.) are also posted.

End of season celebration, senior recognition, family picnic, hospitality at home meets, etc. Sound fun? They are! Please sign up on CheddarUp. We need all the help we can get.
Booster meetings are held at 6:00 PM once a month in the Faculty Dining/Thunder Room in the back of the cafeteria.

As one of the top programs in the state, it costs a lot of money to run our program. Every athlete and family needs to do their part to help the team.
